Who we are
We’re Jarod and Moriah, the second generation behind XX Ranch, proud to continue and expand the legacy of Wilson Ranch in Southern California. Ranching is more than what we do - it’s how we were raised, how we feed our family, and how we plan to pass something meaningful on to the next generation.
On our ranch, we raise and finish California Angus beef. Our cattle are cared for in a healthy, low-stress environment that respects the natural way quality beef is meant to be raised. We don’t use hormones, additives, or shortcuts - and we wouldn’t sell anything we wouldn’t proudly put on our own family’s table.
Our mission is simple: to provide locally raised and finished beef to families in an easy, honest, no-nonsense way. We believe people deserve to know where their food comes from, how it was raised, and who raised it. That’s why we keep our production small, our process transparent, and our pricing straightforward - no hidden fees, no gimmicks, and no BS.
Unlike grocery store beef that often comes from multiple sources and long supply chains, our beef stays local and traceable. When you buy from XX Ranch, you know exactly where your beef came from and how it was cared for every step of the way.
Animal welfare matters deeply to us. Our cattle are raised with patience and respect, allowed to grow naturally in a calm environment. We also raise Anatolian Pyrenees livestock guardian dogs, which protect our cattle, horses, and ranch while allowing us to manage predators without unnecessary stress on the animals or the land.
At the heart of XX Ranch is family. We’re hands-on in the daily work, involved in every decision, and committed to doing things the right way - even when it’s the harder way. We do this for local families who care about what they’re feeding their kids, for folks who value honest food, and for those who want to support small, family-owned agriculture.
When you support XX Ranch, you’re not just buying beef - you’re helping preserve local ranching and keeping a legacy alive for the next generation.
If you ever have questions about how our beef is raised, availability, or what to expect, we’re always happy to talk. Transparency isn’t a marketing term for us — it’s how we operate.
